Our Story

Roumen and Sara named their tiny farm in memory of their son, Alexandar. Gardening has been a great solace to Roumen especially. He uses a “food forest” philosophy to bring together an ecosystem of edible and companion plants which eliminate the use of persistent pesticides and chemical fertilizers. What began as a simple kitchen garden has grown to 40+ fruit trees, pumpkin patches, raised beds, trellises, and many small garden beds. Sara can be frequently found harvesting produce and photographing the beautiful flowers planted to strategically attract pollinators.

The City of Austin allows Roumen and Sara to share their abundance with their neighbors as a small-scale market garden. Though they cannot offer tours of the property, check out @AlexandarPondFarm on social media. All offerings are available for curbside pickup and plants and seeds may be shipped anywhere in the continental US via USPS.
